When I was picked for the enviro kids group I felt Honoured to be one chosen. One thing I am excited about is the worm farms,
I love getting my hands dirty so this should be awesome.

Today I picked a group of three, Joel, Liam and I.
Today we had to research organic fertilizers on the internet, we found a few helpful tips which we can use in the future.

Today we nailed the garden boxs together, it was fun and easy. The wood used clipped in together and Mr V kindly drilled some holes for the nails it was still so cool.

Today we put on the undercoat paint, on the garden boxs it took a while and alot of paint. When we finshed they looked good.

Today we painted the planter box's, it was fun, it took us almost the whole day. the house paint's we used,
were set on a table were we could mix colours. I managed to stay clean. the rest of the school put their hand print's on one of the box's.
20/6/11 Today we lernt about compost in the libary. Aswell as ways to make it and get the ingreient's needed. 4/7/11 Today we walked down to Lake Hakanoa to take some pictures of the environment and collect any rubbish we saw. It was fun for me because I took some awesome pictures of flowers and trees and had a graet time with my friends and my mum 11/7/11 Today we talked about what veges would be good to grow in our gardens. There were all the common ones like tomatos, cabbage and carrots. However there were some unsual ones like Bok Choi and lemon grass. Today we also reviewed some pictures of our walk around Lake Hakanoa, there were some pretty cool pictures.
5/9/11 Today the envirokids team began to sow some of the seeds, There were many cool seeds. First we set out the tarps to work on, then we got the planting trays ,filled them with the planting soils and put in the seeds. It was fun. The seeds I planted were Mesculan, I first filled the tray with tui garden mix, patted it down with some water, spreed out the seeds and lightly covered with soil. After I had finshed, I got to take some photos.
12/9/11 Today the enviro kids made posters and videos to send into the tui gardening competition. Our posters and videos premote the Kimihia school garden boxs, who ever wins, recieves a thousand dollars and some tui garden mix. 20/9/11 Today we planted some seeds in the garden boxs. Joel Liam and I made some tepes from the stalks of the flax for the Snow peas to grow up. around the peas Kalesha and Katlyn planted some cute letteces.
26/9/11 Today the enviro kids sowed some more seeds. With these seeds we will sell them, with the money we get we will bye some more seeds or any garden tools we need. Some of the other enviro kids Started the compost bins using some old rooten leaves and some chopped up weeds. 31/10/11 Today the enviro kids were told that we are also incharge of the gardens around the school as well as the vege patch. So today we did the weeding.
